What to Wear to a Summer Festival with Debenhams
Last weekend, I was fortunate enough to be invited along to Wireless Festival with Debenhams. It's funny because just a few weeks prior, I was telling a friend how much I wanted to go to Wireless, then an email landed in my inbox! Debenhams were kind enough to invite me along and gave me the challenge of creating a full festival look from their womenswear range.
Start with the Trainers
Festivals require you to be on your feet all day, so you're going to need some comfy comfy shoes - is there anything comfier than a pair of kicks? Much to my surprise, Debenhams actually have a great trainer selection, stocking brands like Superga, Vans and Puma. I had been lusting after some Superga's or some Pumas to add to my collection. However, after quadbiking over sand dunes in Cape Verde wearing my white AF1s, I know that dust and white trainers do not mix. Ultimately, I went with some black Puma Vicky trainers. I really like the contrasting platform sole and the cute ribbon lacing.
Show a little Skin
Showing a little skin is what festival season is all about. As I walked into the festival, it was clear I wasn't the only one that got the message - from cycling shorts proudly showing every curve through to free-the-nip style sheer bodysuits, everyone dared to bare. But whether you want to go all out, nipple pasties and sheer bottoms, or keep it more conservative - you deserve to show a little skin! I personally love to keep it understated. I'm a huge fan of cut-out detail style tunic tops so I picked up a Miss Selfridge Tunic top, courtesy of Debenhams.
Add some Sparkle
The more sparkle the better - honey it's a festival after all. I opted for these Faith Swim Shorts to add a little shimmer to my outfit. I love how they peek out of the side slits in the tunic. I also brought the sparkle with some face glitter - you all know how much I love my highlighter and a festival is the perfect time to dip yourself in glitter and emerge as the glowing goddess you are.
Sunglasses are a Must
Ignoring the fact that I actually have a sunglasses obsession and probably will wear them all the way through to the dark days of October - sunglasses are essential for sunny festival season. Festivals are a great opportunity to play with new shapes or out there embellishments. Not really a new shape to me, but I took this opportunity to get some slightly theatrical cat eye sunglasses from Quay Australia. Just make sure you put them into your bag if you get dragged into a mosh pit (I lost some fabulous zebra print sunnies that way).

Initially, I was hesitant to participate in this collaboration. Aside from beauty bits, I rarely shop at Debenhams, however my mama always taught me that you can find some gems in unexpected places. In this instance, she was right on the money. I was actually so impressed with the brands that I found at Debenhams and I was able to find a full outfit that was totally me.
Of course, I'm super super grateful for the opportunity to go to Wireless festival. It was honestly a bit of a pinch me moment, that didn't feel real until I was making my way through the main stage crowd with my lanyard around my neck. It was such an amazing day. I got to meet a fantastic group of bloggers; did a little celeb spotting in the VIP tent (did someone say Brooklyn Beckham?); the G&Ts were free-flowing and I danced my ass off. Not to mention the obvious but Drake.
